Mini Holiday Floral Shaker Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello, crafty friends! Today, I'm sharing a festive shaker card I created for Honey Bee Stamps using mostly new goodies from the Cozy Christmas Release. This project combines some lovely floral layers with a cozy, textured background, perfect for sending "Happy Holidays" wishes. Let’s dive into the details of how I brought this card to life!

Lovely Layered Florals

For a beautiful floral touch, I used the Lovely Layers: Mini Holiday Florals Honey Cuts. After die-cutting, I ink-blended each piece and added extra depth with Copic markers, and then I splattered white ink to enhance the wintry feel. Once assembled, I set the floral elements aside to work on the shaker frame.

Creating the Shaker Front

To create the front of the shaker, I die-cut the largest frame from the Layering Vintage Labels Honey Cuts out of white cardstock. Next, I ran it through the Rustic Brick Wall 3D Embossing Folder to add cozy brick detailing to the card front. Then I set this piece aside while I prepared the background.

Building the Background

For warmth and a rustic touch, I selected a charming gingham pattern from the Gingerbread Village Paper Pad for the background. I trimmed the paper slightly larger than the window opening, added the shaker bits in the center, and adhered a cello sheet over the area using liquid glue along the perimeter. Since these shaker bits add minimal bulk, foam tape wasn’t necessary. Finally, I attached this piece behind the shaker window, creating a charming holiday scene, and adhered it to the card base.

Adding the Florals

With the shaker component in place, I arranged the floral elements from the previous steps around the card. I used foam adhesive to elevate some of the pieces, giving the design depth and dimension.

Sentiment

For the "Happy Holidays" sentiment, I used the Great Greetings: Holiday Honey Cuts. To give the letters a glossy, dimensional look, I applied Bee Creative Clear Embossing Ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. This subtle shine makes the sentiment pop against the background, adding thickness and rigidity to the die cuts.

Final Touches
For the finishing touches, I applied Prisma Glitter to parts of the florals, adding a festive sparkle. I also used Gingerbread Pearl Stickers as embellishments to enhance the holiday feel. These small details bring the card to life, making it perfect for spreading holiday cheer!

Let’s take a closer look at how I brought this holiday scene to life.

CARD RECIPE

• SA264 HA + RT Color Layering Stage Curtain Stencils: Used to create the beautifully blended stage backdrop.
• DF186 HA + RT Stage Curtain Fancy Die (F): For the dramatic stage curtain scene.
• SB416 HA + RT Holiday Marquee Messages Bundle (C): Stamps and dies for that bold “Merry Christmas” marquee sign.
• SB414 HA + RT Sparkling Holiday Stage Bundle (E): Featuring stamps and dies for the Rockettes-inspired dancers and coordinating holiday elements.
• India Black Ink: To stamp all the main images and details.
• Copic Markers: For coloring the dancers and stage props.
• Liquid Applique: (older product) Added to the dancers' costumes for the fluffy white Santa fur trim. Another option PW121 White Puff Embossing Powder
• Gel Pens: Gold, sparkle, and white for small highlights and added sparkle details.
• Foam Adhesive: To add dimension to various elements on the card, making the stage and marquee pop.
• Distress Oxide Inks: For ink blending the vibrant background.

How I Created the Card:

Creating the Stage: The star of this card is the DF186 HA + RT Stage Curtain Fancy Die, which cuts a beautiful stage curtain, framing the scene. I used the SA264 HA + RT Color Layering Stage Curtain Stencils to ink blend the stage with rich reds and oranges, giving it that theater feel. The distress oxide inks were perfect for blending out a smooth and vibrant backdrop.

Stamping & Coloring the Dancers: I stamped the dancers from the SB414 HA + RT Sparkling Holiday Stage Bundle using India Black Ink. These fabulous ladies were brought to life with Copic Markers, keeping their costumes classic in red and white. I added dimension to their Santa hats and outfits with Liquid Applique, which puffed up to create a fluffy texture once heat set.

Spotlights and Marquee Sign: The SB416 HA + RT Holiday Marquee Messages Bundle was perfect for the large, bold “Merry Christmas” sign. After die-cutting the marquee, I colored it in and added small details with a gold gel pen to mimic the lights around the sign. I also glued down two small gems to act as spotlights shining down on the stage.

Finishing Touches: I used foam adhesive to pop up the dancers and marquee for added dimension. For extra sparkle, I used a sparkle gel pen on small details like the wreath and presents, and added highlights with a white gel pen to give the scene a polished look.

Inside: To complete this card, I used a sentiment from the SB414 HA + RT Sparkling Holiday Stage Bundle.

This Rockettes-inspired card brings a fun and festive holiday spirit, showcasing the wonderful products from the Hero Arts + Ralph Tyndall Fall 2024 Release. The stage curtain die and layered stencils really brought depth to the scene, while the marquee and dancers give it that Broadway Christmas feel. Vintage Heart Stump Die: 

To create the base of the card, I used the Vintage Heart Stump Die. I positioned the die over a folded square card base, ensuring the top of the heart slightly extended beyond the fold. After running it through my die-cut machine, this created a heart-shaped card with a hinged top. Next, I die-cut another heart from a separate piece of cardstock, stamped it using the Vintage Heart Stamps with intricate woodgrain details, and heat-embossed it in gold. The golden embossing brings a stunning, rustic elegance, and the shimmer beautifully highlights the wood grain texture, making the heart truly stand out.

Graceful Magnolias Stamps and Dies: 

To soften the card, I stamped Graceful Magnolias and die-cut some floral accents on vellum using the Graceful Magnolias set. I then used the same heart die from the Vintage Heart Stump cut out the edge so that they lined up with the heart-shaped edge. These were heat embossed in white for a delicate, airy feel. I love how the white embossing on vellum contrasts with the rich gold of the heart, creating a beautiful balance of bold and soft.

Cheers My Friend Word Dies: 

I added bold, striking letters "C + S" using the Cheers My Friend Word Dies for a pop of color and personalization. The vibrant red really stands out against the neutral tones of the rest of the card. I love how customizable this die set is, making it easy to create cards for any occasion.

Sentiment and Embellishments: 

I finished off the card with a simple "Congratulations" sentiment from Vintage Heart Stamps & Dies

and a few small gems to add a touch of sparkle using the Day and Night Gems, pulling the whole design together.

This heart-shaped card is not only unique but also elegant and versatile, perfect for weddings, engagements, or even anniversaries. The combination of gold and white embossing adds a luxurious touch, while the vibrant red initials make the card personal and memorable.

Halloween is just around the corner, and I couldn’t be more excited to share this purr-fectly spooky project featuring the Lovely Layers: Scaredy Cat Dies from Honey Bee Stamps! This fun and interactive card lights up, adding a magical touch to any Halloween greeting.

Creating the Background

To set the spooky scene, I began by ink blending the night sky using Distress Oxide Inks in Black Soot and Prize Ribbon, followed by spritzing with Distress Spritz - Uncharted Mariner to give the sky that eerie, starry texture. The moonlight was added with a circle die cut from the Sweet Stacks: Circles Dies and a layer of vellum, which diffuses the light beautifully when the card is illuminated.

Light-Up Feature

To bring the card to life, I incorporated an EZ-Light - 3-Light Strand. This was easily hidden behind the vellum circle to give that perfect glowing moon effect. When you press on the pumpkin, the card lights up, making it an enchanting surprise for the recipient!

The Main Elements

The focal point of the card is the adorable black cat, crafted with the Lovely Layers: Scaredy Cat Dies. I love how the die cuts give dimension to the cat, making it pop off the card. I paired it with a vibrant pumpkin and I added shading to using detail blending brushes. 

The bat flying above adds a playful touch, while the witch's hat on the cat (cut from the Sweet & Spooky Paper Pad) and the striped background panel from the same collection add coordinating patterns and colors, tying the design together.

Finishing Touches

For a little extra sparkle, I used both the Fall Is In The Air Gem Stickers and Sweet & Spooky Gem Stickers to add some extra details to the background. I also couldn’t resist adding highlights using a White Gelly Roller Pen for that extra pop.

The sentiment, "Happy Meowloween!" from the Sweet Halloween Stamps, finishes the card on a playful note.

This light-up Halloween card was so much fun to make, and the EZ-Lights added a simple yet magical touch that brings the whole design together. Honey Bee Stamps' products make it easy to create interactive and festive cards, perfect for Halloween or any spooky season project!

Happy Fall Wreath Pop Up Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello, crafty friends! 🍂 Fall is finally here, and with it comes the perfect opportunity to create cozy, seasonal cards. Today, I’m sharing a delightful Fall Wreath pop-up card featuring products from the Honey Bee Stamps Falloween Release, that is sure to bring a warm smile to anyone’s face. I used a variety of dies, stencils, and embellishments to craft this wreath, complete with vibrant sunflowers, a cute pumpkin, and layers of fall florals. Let's dive into the details of how I put this card together!

The Design

I began by die-cutting all the key elements from the Seasonal Signs Dies, including the circle for the wood frame, the red bow, the pumpkin, and the hanger. These pieces formed the base of my wreath, giving it structure and dimension.

Next, I moved on to inking the word "Fall" using the Seasonal Signs Stencil. After blending the ink onto the circle die-cut, I ran it through my die-cutting machine with the Woodgrain 3D Embossing Folder to create a realistic wood grain texture. To make this texture stand out even more, I blended Hickory Smoke Oxide Ink over the raised areas, giving the wood a weathered, rustic look.

To complete the wooden frame effect, I used my Scor-Pal Mini Scor-Buddy to press horizontal lines into the paper, mimicking planks of wood. With the help of a ruler and a Copic marker, I drew over these embossed lines, enhancing the realistic wood grain feel.

Once the wood frame was complete, I started building up the wreath with floral and decorative elements. The lovely sunflowers and fall leaves were cut using the Lovely Layers: Mini Fall Florals Dies, which added vibrant pops of color to the design. I used various distress oxide inks to blend colors onto the die-cuts, bringing life to the florals and leaves.

Floral and Wreath Details

The flowers are the highlight of this wreath, and I created them with the Lovely Layers: Mini Fall Florals Dies. The sunflowers, with their bright yellow petals and gem-encrusted centers, were a real show-stopper. I used Fall Is In The Air Pearl Stickers and Fall Is In The Air Gem Stickers for extra sparkle and shine.

To add even more depth to the wreath, I arranged the die-cut leaves around the sunflowers and tucked in a small pumpkin die-cut at the bottom of the wreath, keeping everything cohesive and full of autumn charm.

Assembly

To create the pop-up frame for my card, I first cut out the top frame using the second-largest square from the Double Stitched Square Dies, cutting it from a 5.5-inch square piece of cardstock. This would frame the wreath beautifully.

Next, I cut two pieces of cardstock measuring 5.5 inches by 2 inches and scored each piece at every half inch. I folded these pieces accordion-style to create springs, which I then attached to the back of the square top frame. These springs added the perfect pop-up dimension for the card.

For extra dimension behind the wreath, I created another pop-up spring. This piece measured 2.5 inches by 5 inches, and I scored it every half inch, three times, before folding it. I glued this piece directly behind the wreath to make it stand out even more.

Once the springs were in place, I adhered the entire top frame and wreath onto the card base, where I had already glued a piece of patterned paper from the Fall Is In The Air Paper Pad. This patterned background added a cozy, autumnal feel to complement the dimensional elements of the wreath.

Finishing Touches

To complete the design, I added some white gel pen details to enhance the die-cut elements, giving them extra highlights and depth. For added dimension and shine, I applied Glossy Accents to the "Happy" die-cut from the Great Greetings: Everyday Dies and to the pumpkin stem, making those areas pop and stand out against the rest of the design.

This Fall Wreath pop-up card is one of my favorite fall projects so far using the latest Honey Bee Stamps Falloween Release!
