Spring Inspired Rainbow Cards | Spellbinders April 2020 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month

Hello sweet friends, hope you all are well! I trust that if you are a crafter you probably haven't left the craft room 😅

Today I have a few Spring inspired rainbow cards to share with you featuring the Spellbinders April 2020 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month. The kit includes Celebrate the Day and the Special Months Glimmer Foil Set which coordinate perfectly with the Truckin Through the Seasons Die if you already have that. I did not, so I got creative with my designs.

CARD DETAILS

This first card was super simple to make. I began by foiling the "hello" from the Hello Dear Friend Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and Die Set followed by the "APRIL" from the Special Months Set onto a piece of purple cardstock.

I used the Speckled Prism Glimmer Hot Foil Roll to foil onto the paper using the HOT FOIL SYSTEM. I then glued strips of colored cardstock to create a rainbow gradient on the left side of the card. And finished it off by adding some iridescent bubbles. I think this card would be great for a friend named April or even as a friendship card to give out this month.

For the second card, I created a foiled background by using the Fall Flora Dies from a previous Large Die of the Month Club kit. I love how you can use any metal dies to create designs using foil! I then blended out a rainbow gradient of color using Atelier Inks.

For the sentiment again I used the Speckled Prism Glimmer Hot Foil Roll to foil onto black cardstock using a plate from the Celebrate the Day set. I then mounted that sentiment strip onto a piece that I completely covered with the foil to create a border around the sentiment.

To embellish, I added some clear confetti and a tiny sparkle to the center of the flowers using a gel pen.

Queen Bee Birthday Shaker Card | Studio Katia

Do you know any Queen Bees?

I know a few little Queens that qualify for the title and a card like this. I had so much fun creating this cute shaker card featuring a bunch of goodies from the Studio Katia January Release.

  CARD DETAILS

I began by creating the front panel for the shaker. To do that I die cut the SCALLOP HONEYCOMB COVER and then glued a piece of ACETATE to the back and then added the foam tape to the perimeter of the panel.

To fill the inside of the shaker, I added GOLD FEVER CONFETTI, GOLD FEVER GLITTER, and SPARKLING HEARTS CONFETTI GLITTER. I then closed up the shaker panel with a piece of yellow card stock. I then glued the panel to a piece of black cardstock that I had glued to a top folding A2 card base.

Next, I stamped out and colored the HONEY BEES using Copic markers and then used the coordinating  HONEY BEES DIES cut each piece out and then glued them onto the shaker hive front.

To finish off the card front I stamped out the sentiment and heat embossed it in white and then used the PEONY TRIMMINGS + BANNER DIES to die cut the banner.

And here is how I finished off the inside of this darling card.

Color Swatch Crafty Friendship Card | Studio Katia

Hello and Happy Saturday Friends!

For my card today I was inspired by color swatches, so I thought it would be fun to create a Colorful Color Swatch Crafty Friendship Card featuring the new DOTTED SQUARE FRAME from Studio Katia's latest release. This die is perfect not only as a frame but because of the square dies you get this would also make a great die to use for swatching ink colors.

  CARD DETAILS

To begin I die cut the DOTTED SQUARE FRAME from a piece of Neenah Cardstock. Once I had the pieces all cut out I began ink blending each square in rainbow order using a variety of Distress Oxide Ink pads. See thumbnails below for the colors used.

Next, I glue the panel down onto the card front and then popped the squares in place using foam tape. To the orange square, I stamped out the sending stamp from the JAPANESE PEONY set.

Next, I die cut 3 layers of the Crafty from the ARTSY TRIMMINGS DIES and the hugs from the LOVELY WORDS DIES, stacked and glued them together. I then glued them in place and finished them off with a layer of glossy accents.

To finish the card, I added some ONYX CRYSTALS as embellishments and then die cut and added the black frame to balance out the black focal points on the card.
