Love is in the Air Valentines Day Card | Studio Katia

Hello, my sweet friends!

Are you feeling the valentine's crafty itch yet? I am starting to get there. The more and more I see of Valentines online the more I feel it's OK to move on from the Holiday mode.

Today's cute card features mostly new goodies from Studio Katia's latest Valentine's release. 

CARD RECIPE

Since this card is pretty self-explanatory, I won't bore you with all the steps. (Plus, I am trying to limit my screen time on the computer to decrease stress on my eye right now. Birthday Balloon Shaker Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello friends and Happy 2023! 

Yes, this is my first post of the New Year, so I wanted to wish you all the best and thank you all for your support over the years. 

EYE UPDATE: As I have mentioned recently I have been struggling with the vision in my left eye, I barely see anything out of it now. What I do see is mostly shapes and colors, no detail. Because of that, I have been limiting my screen time. For now, I am patching my left eye to avoid straining it when I am online, and still trying to figure out how to decrease the stress on my good eye. I am hoping my left-side vision will stabilize and improve, I just don't want it to get worse. Thankfully, I have a great team of doctors that are following me closely and I am so thankful for all the support I have received. Don't worry I will still be creating just less often, so I am hoping you still will stick with me.

If you saw my last post, you will recognize the similarities between the two backgrounds. I loved my last background so much that I had to recreate the rainbow background again, but this time using balloons from Honey Bee Stamps. Birthday cards are definitely my favorite cards to make and shakers just make the best birthday cards because they are like a party on their own. 

CARD RECIPE

• To begin, I used one of the stencils from the Layering Balloon Stencils and started by blending the yellow ink in the center, followed by the pink ink on top and then the blue on the bottom. When you overlap with the previous color it results in a rainbow blend. Repeat the process with the top layer of the stencil. Use light pressure when blending to create somewhat of a transparent effect.
• Once the background is done, add double-sided tape to the back and secure 3 of the shaker pocket tabs. I filled the pocket with Bokeh Lights Confetti and sealed the last tab. Remove the protective plastic layer from the pocket if it has one.
• Attach the finished shaker pocket to a card base.

• Using Rainbow Glimmer Foil, I foiled stamped the Happy Birthday Plate from the Foil Script: Wishes Hot Foil Plate/Dies and then die cut it using the coordinating die.
• Use glue to secure the sentiment to the front of the shaker, and voila, how easy was this birthday card!?

A card like this would be easy to mass-produce and have on hand for upcoming birthdays. Change up the colors to make switch things up and make the cards more personal. I think I may have to take my own advice and make some for my stash as I am always running low.

Be My Gnomie Shaker Card | Studio Katia | Blog Hop & Giveaway

 Hello Friends and welcome to the Studio Katia December Release Blog Hop and Giveaway. If you have started hopping you should have arrived from the Studio Katia blog and Galina will be your next Hop. The complete Blog Hop list can be found at the end of this post.

If you love LOVE and love gnomes and love pizza... well then this release is perfect for YOU! For my card today I combined a gnome with lots of rainbow hearts that I eventually turned into a shaker card.

This Release Includes: 

4 stamp sets (3 with coordinating dies) 

3 standalone dies 

1 stencil

And as you can see it's all about Valentine's Day 😍

CARD RECIPE

• Stamp out the gnome images from the Gnomies Stamp set using a Copic-friendly ink. Color the images in and die-cut them with coordinating dies.
• For the background, I started by ink-blending the hearts from the Hearts Duo Stencil using yellow ink, followed by pink ink, and then blue ink, each time overlapping the colors to create a rainbow blend.  Repeat the same process with the other stencil. 
• Next, die-cut the window for the shaker using the largest heart die from the new Simple Dotted Hearts. 
• Add the negative piece of the die-cut heart to the front of a card base. 
• With the background panel, create the window for the shaker by adding a piece of acetate to the back. Build a well around the perimeter of the heart using foam tape.
• Add the shaker bits (all linked below) to the center of the heart that you previously glued onto the card base.
• Remove the protective layer from the foam and press the layers together to create the shaker.
•  Add the colored gnome to the front panel using foam tape.
• Stamp out the sentiment onto black cardstock using white ink and heat set it with white embossing powder.
• Trim the sentiment banner and glue it to the card front.
• Finish by adding a few satin pearls.
