A Rainbow Ho Ho Ho Holiday Card | Studio Katia Winter Release Blog Hop and Giveaway

This Winter Release includes 6 stamp sets, 4 with coordinating dies, 3 standalone dies, 3 stencils, and 1 paper pad. 

My super simple non-traditional Christmas card features the new Playful Dots Stencil and the Ho Ho Ho Die.

CARD RECIPE

• Ink-blend the background using the Playful Dots Stencil. I used yellow, pink, and blue inks to create the rainbow blend.
• Leaving the stencil in place, add a layer of glimmer paste. Remove the stencil and wash it immediately as the glimmer paste can be hard to remove once dry. Set the background aside to dry.
• Die cut the Ho Ho Ho using one layer of Holographic paper, one black layer, and 3 white layers.
• Glue layers together starting with the holographic one on the bottom, followed by the black layer and white layers. Discard the shadow layers from the white and black layers (or used them on a different card). The black layer adds a little extra shadow and dimension.

Happy Birthday Shaker Card for Mom | Surprise Blog Hop | Studio Katia

Hello everyone and welcome to our surprise blog hop to celebrate Studio Katia and the amazing Katia herself. 

The month of May marks the anniversary of Studio Katia's 7th Birthday and we couldn’t let it pass without thanking all of you and also Katia for her amazing products. 

Like many around the world, the last few years haven't been the greatest for Katia and the design team wanted to let her know how much she is loved and appreciated. 

Since Katia is like the Momma figure of this team I thought this Birthday Shaker would make a great card to share on this hop.

CARD RECIPE

For this frameless/infinity shaker:

•  I began by die-cutting the Half Striped Cover Plate and gluing it on a card panel. Cutting the frame at a diagonal so that it only covered the bottom right corner of the shaker. 
• I then stamped the happy birthday stamp from the Cone Bouquet set and then the Mom from the Spring Roses set onto the card panel.
• For the Foiled Roses, I used the ROSE GOLD Glimmer Foil, in the hot foil system with the Roses Hot Foil Plate.
• I then used the coordinating Spring Roses Die to cut out the foiled roses.
• For the frameless/infinity shaker, you can use pre-made shaker pockets, acetate, or packaging material. For a how-to video click HERE. I created an acetate pocket.
• Fill the shaker with Pastel Rainbow Confetti and Pastel Rainbow Sequins. 
• Glue shaker pocket onto a card base.

Here is a closer look at these beautiful foiled roses. As you can see I only glued the edge of the frame down. This allows for the shaker pieces to move in between the striped frame.

Sending Sunflowers and Sunshine Card | Studio Katia - Support Ukraine Blog Hop

CARD RECIPE

To start I stamped the Sunflower from the SUNSHINE OF HOPE Stamp onto masking paper and then fussy cut the image to use for masking out the design. I then stamped out the Sunflower 4 times using different angles onto Bristol paper. 

Next, I watercolored the images using Karin Brush Markers Pro. Once the paper was dry I used the scalloped frame from the DOTTED SLIMLINE - SET 2 to cut out the card panel. 

To the center of the panel, I then stamped out a few of the sentiments from the SUNSHINE OF HOPE Stamp set. 

To finish I attached the panel using foam tape to a slimline card base that I had glued a yellow cardstock layer to. And, finally, I finished up the card with some coordinating bling... SATIN PALE LEMON PEARLS,  SATIN LEAF PEARLS, and SATIN AQUA PEARLS. To the centers, I also added some Chucky Sparkle Glitter.
