SVGCuts Mistletoe Manor | 3D Paper Christmas House | SVGCuts

Hello, my crafty Friends!

Today I have probably one of my largest projects to share with you! I'm so pleased with how it turned out, hopefully, the recipient will love it just as much! 

This house comes from SVGCuts Mistletoe Manor SVG Kit, but of course, I had to add my own touches to it! I do have to give Thienly Azim lots of credit for my inspiration as well, as I have incorporated touches of her Home For Christmas project. (One of my all-time favorite SVGCuts DT projects from her, if you haven't seen it it's definitely worth checking out!)

Well, what do you think? Isn't she a beauty!?

So realistic looking... I can't believe it's made out of paper!

Some other alterations I made to the house was to create little holes in the roofline to poke my Christmas lights through. I also added siding panels to my copula, to match the middle floor siding. 

I wanted to create some realistic-looking icicles. Creating them was super simple!
Using a glue gun, simply apply the glue to a craft mat in a straight line as long as you need it. Then go back and attach the glue icicles to the line. If you don't have a craft mat you can also use parchment paper (any nonstick surface will work). Wait for the glue to dry completely and attach it to your project!

I also wanted to add some realistic-looking snow. I used Snow-tex from DecoArt, which I purchased at Micheal's. This stuff is awesome! It didn't seem to warp my paper at all, and was dry within a few hours!

For the little snowballs on the trees, I used Liquid Applique. This stuff is so much fun, it's almost magical. Goes on wet, but add your heat gun to it and watch it magically puff up!

One of my favorite touches is the Silhouette of a woman at the door. Looks like she is waving goodbye to someone!

Halloween Bewitched Cabin | 3D Halloween Treat Box Decoration | SVGCuts

Hello, my crafty Friends!

It's been a while since I had taken on a bigger project. Sometimes all I need is an excuse to craft ;) My Excuse this time was that I needed something to display on one of the hospital units I work.

So here is what I created for them! 

How cool is this Bewitched Cabin?!

Not only does this make a cool decoration piece, but it can also be used as a treat or gift box!

For those of you that don't know I am a Nurse and have worked in Oncology for the past 18+ years. So recently I took my House of Haunts to work. Usually, it's displayed in my craft room all year long, but this year I thought it would be cool to take it to work and share it with all the staff, patients, and visitors on one of the Units. Here's a shout-out to Station 40 at the CCI! You would not believe the comments it has received and the amazement it gets when people find out it's made of paper and that it was done by someone that works there! There is no better reward than to see someone smile because of something you made :)

The only issue was that I also work on Station 30 and they were wondering why they didn't get one? The only logical solution I saw was to get busy creating a Halloween decoration for them! See Station 30, I love you guys too!

Here is a closer look at the side of the house. Love the little vellum ghosts!

Here is the other side of the house.
To add the lights I used my crop-a-dile big bite punch to create some holes along the roofline of the house, and then pushed the lights through each hole.

 Kind of difficult to see here, but on the bottom left corner of the house I created a flap using a sharp precision knife. I then fed the plug end of the string of lights through the opening to allow it to get plugged in. You could also skip the string of lights and just add some electric tea lights instead.

Here is the Bewitched Cabin as it's now displayed on  Station 30 (with one of my co-worker's hiding behind it). She did pose for another picture afterward but it was really blurry! Thanks anyway Jill!







And, here is the House of Haunts, which was my 2013 creation for the SVGCuts Halloween Challenge now displayed on Station 40.


Oh, and see the stacked pumpkins on the top right, I made those last year as one of my SVGCuts DT projects and gave them to Kim, our Unit Clerk. She now proudly displays them on the Unit every Fall!

First Day of School Teacher's Gift Card/Holder | SVGCuts

Hi guys!

Just wanted to share with you all the card I will be sending along with my kids for the teachers on Tuesday. This year they have a late start, probably because they went until the very end in June! Whatever the reason I am so grateful for the last few days!

So here are the First Day of School Teacher's Gift Cards I made! What teachers wouldn't love to receive these cuties?!

Here is what they look like on the inside.

I created some cutout tabs on the inside offset layer (3.5 inches apart) just make sure when you glue the layer down you don't glue them down! I also created the card using the bottom (yellow) layer by welding the flipped image of it together to create the base of the card. See the image below for the pieces I used to make the cards ;)

Here is a close-up so you can see the embossing, inking, and other embellishments! The backpack blues stamp comes from Craftin' Desert Divas School Zone set. Thought it was the perfect sentiment for teachers on their first day back ;)

Mother's Day Cards | SVGCuts

Happy Mother's Day to all Mothers reading this post!

Today I wanted to share with you all the fun cards I made for the moms in my life. Since I was making some for myself, I thought I would make a few more for my children's school Auction that took place this weekend. The cards are all same with a few different embellishments. Love how they turned out and hope you do too!

These first cards are perfect for the mom who sews. 

I stamped the inside of the cards with a stamp from Craftin Desert Divas -Happy Celebrations stamp set.

The papers I used comes from Carta Bella's Sew Lovely Paper Collection. Love this paper!!!

Here is the same card with a different Carta Bella Collection. The papers for this one comes from Homemade with Love.

This paper is perfect for the Baking Mom in your life!

The files for this card all come from SVGCuts Cards for Mom Kit.

I used pieces from 3 different cards in the kit to come up with this design. Sweet and simple.... especially when making multiples!

Paper Lantern Card Birthday Card | SVGCuts

Hello, my Crafty Friends!

Today I have a Paper Lantern Card to share with you all! The files come from SVGCuts latest kit Spring Blossoms. Perfect timing on their release... Just so happens one of my amazing friends who happens to be Chinese celebrated a birthday a few days ago. So I thought this would be the perfect card for her ;) Happy Birthday Ling, Ling!

Anyways, let's have a look at the card I made her :)
This card is SO pretty and super quick to put together!

The stamp I used comes from Craftin Desert Divas, Simply Said Stamp Set.
I also used some Trendy Twine on the lanterns.
And, for a pop of color, I added touches of gold using some paint markers.

Love Shadow Box | SVGCuts

Hi guys!

 I have a Fall project to share with you today! I know it's not even Spring here yet (although it feels like it), but somewhere around the world, it is Autumn... my favorite time of year!

Lucky U - Shamrock Treat Box | SVGCuts

Have you seen the latest SVGCuts, Feeling Lucky SVG Kit? If you haven't, you must!!! It was SO worth the wait :) Check it out HERE!

I immediately fell in LOVE with the Shamrock Box, and of course, had to drop everything and make it right away! Usually, I wait for Mary's how-to videos to see how to put it together, but I really couldn't wait,  LOL! It took some figuring it out but it all came together nicely :)

I added some elements from the other pieces of the kit and made it my own, so many possibilities here. The stamp I used comes from Craftin' Desert Divas - Happy Celebrations set.

Teacher Valentine's Day Treat Boxes | SVGCuts

Hi Guys!

I have one more Valentine's Day project to share with you today, well actually two!

Here are a couple of treat boxes I made for my son's teachers. How cute are they? 

 The files for the left candy box heart come from the Hugs and Kisses SVG Kit and the box on the right comes from For My Valentine SVG Kit. I modified each a little by personalizing them with their names.

The stamp I used comes from the School Zone stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas. Have to say I'm loving their stamps lately!

Star Shaped Birthday Card | SVGCuts

One can never have enough birthday cards. So I thought I would make a few to add to my stash! 

This card comes from SVGCuts Ice Cream Birthday SVG Kit. I added the bow to the top for some fun and it comes from Gift Boxes SVG Kit. Super easy and fun card!

To embellish it, just added some buttons and used some tickled pink and limeade twine from Trendy Twine!
