Cheeky Friendship Thank You Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Happy Monday Friends!

I am back today with a super fun "cheeky" card, literally! 😂 This card is for that really great friend you have that you can joke around with, that lifts your spirits and of course is just awesome sauce. I have a few of those girls in my life and I'm sure you do too!

CARD DETAILS

This slimline card was actually quite simple to make as it is basically a one layer card with some paper piecing. The finished card measures 4 x 8.5 inches.

To create the bottom, I used the largest heart die from the PIERCED XOXO HEART DIE set. For the pockets I used the STACKING POCKETS DIES. I then used a BACKGROUND BLENDER BRUSH to color in the pieces for the blue jeans using faded jeans Distress Oxide Ink.

Once everything was colored I pieced the pockets together and glued them in place. I also added the stitched details and the tiny heart buttons to the pockets using dies from the POCKET FULL OF LOVE DIE set.

For the sweater I measured the width of the heart (derriere) at the point where I wanted the sweater to reach, I then cut the sweater pattern piece to that width and used the edge from the DECKLE EDGE A2 frames to die cut along the bottom of the sweater to give it a more realistic finish. The sweater pattern paper comes from the HOLIDAY TRADITIONS Paper Pad.

The greeting on the card comes from three different stamp sets that I stamped out using Versafine Onyx Ink and heat set it with clear embossing powder. The "Friend" stamp comes from the FRIENDSHIP stamp set, the "you are awesome sauce" comes from the AWESOME SAUCE stamp set and the "thanks for the lift" comes from the BLOWN AWAY stamp set.

Fresh Bunch | Thinking Of You Stitched Card

Hey Friends! 

I'm back again with another stitched card today and I hope you love it as much as I do 😍 This was the other card panel I completed on my vacation this summer and finally am using it! Click HERE to see the previous stitched card I made.

The stitched area was created by running the middle border die from the Stitched Borders Die Set three times on the top part of the panel and twice on the bottom half through the Sizzix, leaving a space for the sentiment in between. I then created an arrow like stitch by stitching diagonally one way on the top row and then by going the opposite way the next row. I then looped in and out through the middle to create the dash in the arrow. Repeated the same process with each color. Once the stitching was all done I added multi-medium glue to the back of the panel and glued it down onto a piece of cardstock trimmed a little smaller than the panel. I then stuck the panel under a heavy book to dry flat. 

This gorgeous stamped image comes from the Fresh Bunch Stamp Set, the Studio Katia and Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Collaboration. Hope you all got your set as once they sell out they are gone forever! 

I used Blackout ink to stamp out the image onto Neenah cardstock. Colored the florals in using a blue and green combination of Copics. (Colorless Blender, B00, B02, B05, B16, B29, B66, B69, G02, G12, YG13, YG17, YG67) Added highlights with a white Uniball Signo pen and a clear Wink of Stella was used on just the flowers (difficult to see in the photos). I then fussy cut the image as I didn't have the coordinating die.

Next, I stamped out the thinking of you onto the white space of the stitched panel and then added the floral piece to the left of the sentiment using foam tape. I then adhered a few of the August and September Crystals to it using the new Studio Katia glue, LOVE this glue!!!

Lilac Dreams - Thinking Of You Card - Watercoloring and Smooshing with Distress Oxide Inks

Hello Friends!

Today I'm sharing this super easy and fun to make card featuring the Lilac Dreams set from Ink On 3. At first, I was going to do a no line coloring for this card and then changed my mind when I realized I wasn't going to have the time to finish it. I've been wanting to try this technique out for a while and I am so happy I did because I love the results! 

I first began by stamping out the lilacs onto the cardstock using Juicy Ink, then heat set the images using a fine white embossing powder.

I then smeared some Seedless Preserve and Wilted Violet Oxide ink onto clear acetate sheet, sprayed it with some water then used the sheet to smoosh onto the cardstock, using my heat gun to dry every layer.  I repeated that process a few times until I was satisfied with the coverage. Then I spritzed the entire panel with water and soaked up the droplets with a paper towel, which left behind some watermarks.

Next, I used a detail watercolor brush and added more distress oxide ink to the flowers using the same colors as the background. Then to the leaves added a mix of Forest Moss, Evergreen Bough, and Lucky Clover Oxide Ink.

I finished the card by adding a sentiment from the Water Lily set to a piece of vellum which I wrapped around the card front and embellished with some green crystals.

Today also kicks off the 30-day coloring challenge hosted by Kathy Racoosin of the Daily Marker which I hope to be able to keep up with. 🤞 Wish me luck! This will be my post for Day1 (Shhhh, technically I did this yesterday so we will see if I have time for another coloring today) Anyone else doing the challenge?
