Hi Greeting Cards | July Release | Studio Katia

JULY RELEASE

 I kept both cards fairly simple. So let's take a look at my projects!

CARD #1 RECIPE

• On Bristol paper I stamped out the Botanical 'Hi' Stamp using the Misti. When I water color, I like to restamp over the colored image to darken the lines afterward so leave the stamp in place.
• I used Karen brush makers to add color to this floral image. First I wet the paper and gave the entire image a rainbow gradient with the watered down colors from the markers.
• Once the first layer was done I went back and added more layers of color to the floral image to add some depth and dimension.

• The "Hi" was colored with a solid black marker. 
• At this point I placed the colored image back in to the Misti and restamped it for crisper finish.
• Cover the floral image with a mask and add splatters of color.
• To make the sparkly "Hi" I added glossy accents to the letters and sprinkled it using Sparkle Glitter while it was still wet. Set aside to dry.
• Trim and glue to card base.

CARD #2 RECIPE

•  Stamp out the Mini Balloon Dog Stamp on Bristol paper and watercolor it in. 
• Die cut it using the coordinating Mini Balloon Dog Dies. Add gel pen highlights and set it aside.

• Use the Hi Hot Foil Plate to foil the hi onto a card base. You will need to use a Hot Foil System for this step. If you don't have one you can stamp out the Hi from the Simply 'Hi' Stamp instead. I used Lavender Petal Glimmer Foil.
• Stamp out the birthday sentiment from the Mini Balloon Dog Stamp to complete the greeting using black ink. 

• Use a fine tip black marker to draw a string for the balloon, I looped it around the foiled hi. 
• Add foam tape to back of the Balloon and glue it in place.
• Add a Amethyst Pearl to the dot of the "i"
• Trim the striped piece of paper from the Black on White 6x8.5" Paper Set to A2 size and glue the panel to the card base.

Rainbow Inspired Birthday Cards | Crafty Meraki

Hello friends and Happy Thursday!

Today I have a couple of colorful rainbow inspired cards to share with you as I recently took part in Crafty Meraki's 2nd Birthday Hop, and what better way to celebrate than with a couple of birthday cards🎉🥳 If you want to join in on the fun and participate in the IG Hop for a chance at winning $100 GC to their shop, click 👉 HERE. CARD RECIPE

For this frameless/infinity/edge to edge card, lol... whatever you want to call it 😂 I began with ink blending the CRAFTY MERAKI BIRTHDAY BALLOONS STENCIL using Atelier Inks. Once I had blended the first layer I repositioned the stencil and then blended the balloons out again to create the overlapping effect.

I then used a shaker pocket to create the frameless shaker. I used Assorted Moonshine Sequins to fill the shaker. Then once sealed I glued it onto an A2 card base.

I then stamped out the cute images from the CRAFTY MERAKI MAGICAL DAY STAMP SET out and colored them in with Copics and then added white gel pen details and sparkle glitter to some areas. 

For the sentiments, I just stamped them out in white ink and heat embossed them using white emb. pwd.

For my second card, I used the CRAFTY MERAKI LOVE POTION STAMP SET. I stamped it out onto watercolor paper using Fadeout Ink and then colored the beautiful image using Zig Real Color Brush Markers.

Once the coloring had dried, I added white gel pen highlights and prepped the paper for heat embossing using an anti-static tool.

I then stamped the sentiment using watermark ink and heat set it using gold emb. pwd. I used the same products to add a gold edging around the panel.

To finish this beauty, I added a few Gold Pearls.

Vintage Holiday Release Day 2 Sneak Peeks | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello and welcome back to Day 2 of the Vintage Holiday Release for Honey Bee Stamps.

My card today features the gorgeous new Lovely Layers: Anemone Dies. This is a larger card (A7), simply because I wanted to use all of these flowers together. They would have fit onto an A2 card base but it would have been too small for the sentiment I wanted to use.

Once my Anemone flowers were all die-cut and assembled, I then just had to figure out the background design. I  used the ★Crystal Kaleidoscope Stencil to apply this silver paste to the Scallop A7 Card Frame layer. 

To make these centers pop, I used foam tape in between each layer and added glue to the outside edge of the center layers which were then dipped in sparkle glitter. Before attaching the centers to the flowers, I drew some black lines on the base of the petals. To the end of the lines, I added the cutest little domes to make it look like Stamen. 

Here's a close-up. Check out the dimension. Also, it is difficult to see from the photos but I did blend Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink to the white centers of the flowers to give some extra depth and dimension.
