Minecraft Dynamite - DIY Party Favors

Hey Guys!

Me again!!! Two posts in one day... Man I'm on a roll, lol! And, I still have a few more crafty projects I have yet to share... those will just have to wait for another day!

If you have been following my latest posts, they have had to do with my son's 10th Birthday Parties. Click on the links below for previous Minecraft related posts.

Today I am going to share with you how to make your own Minecraft Dynamite Party Favors! Super quick and easy to put together :)

Minecraft Dynamite - DIY Party Favors

The first thing you need to do is find an image that you would like to use. Here is a wallpaper I found to create my labels. You will want to save the image on your computer. The next thing you need to do is open it up and edit it in Picasa (a free photo editing website). Add your text by using the text option. The font I used is called MineCrafter3 (that font will need to be installed on your computer prior to editing the picture). Once you are happy with your image save it!

The next thing you need to do is print the image. Since I wanted to fit a bunch of labels on one sheet prior to printing them, I used Microsoft Word (I'm sure you can use other programs as well!) When in Word, Open up the image you created. Size it as big or as little as you need it. I made mine using 2 columns 5 rows, a total of 10 labels per sheet. These were big enough to wrap around 4 Twizzlers. You are now ready to print, preferably using a colored printer. Cut out your labels.

Now the fun part begins!
Fill 4 Twizzlers sticks into one of these bags (refer to the above image). Tie the top with the provided twist tie. Another option would be to use some black or white pipe cleaners. Next, wrap the label around the middle of the bag. Secure the ends with glue or tape.

And voila, easy Dynamite Minecraft Party Favors!!! Guaranteed to be a blast at the next Minecraft Party! What kid doesn't love Twizzlers :)

Minecraft "Creeper" Cupcake Cake | DIY Cakes

Hi Everybody!!!

Sorry I haven't been around much lately! April has been a crazy month for me starting with my son's birthday parties, yes there was more than one! Then there was Easter, and yesterday we celebrated my daughter's First Communion. Needless to say, I will have a lot to share with you all, so stay tuned 😉

Today, I want to share with you the Minecraft "Creeper" Cupcake Cake that I made for my son's (friends) birthday party. I had already made him a Minecraft Cake for the party we had for him with just the family. But this cupcake cake was a whole lot easier and quicker to make :)

Here are a few iPhone pics I took of the process and some tips on how to put one of these cakes together!

Minecraft "Creeper" Cupcake Cake | DIY Cakes

First, you will need to figure out how you want to layout your cupcakes. Then squeeze them as close as possible together. This will prevent you from wasting a bunch of icing. To secure the cupcakes to the board just add a little frosting to the bottom of the cupcakes. This will ensure they do not slide around while you frost them! Then pipe the buttercream around the perimeter of the cupcakes and fill the spaces in between. Cover the remaining exposed areas of the cupcakes with more icing.

Minecraft "Creeper" Cupcake Cake | DIY Cakes

Smooth the top of the cupcakes flat using an icing spatula.

Minecraft "Creeper" Cupcake Cake | DIY Cakes

I used black fondant for the face of my creeper. To do that, I just found an image online and printed it out. I then cut out the face and placed the image over the rolled out black fondant. Next, I used a sharp blade to cut out the shapes from the fondant. Place the face of the Creeper centered onto the cake... Now, wasn't that easy?!

3D Paper Easter Bunny Treat Box | SVGCuts

Are you all ready for Easter? So much to do, so little time and Easter will be here in a few more days!

Yesterday, I finally had some time to make some Easter Bunnies! I have been wanting to make them since SVG Cuts first released the Bunny Hop SVG Kit.

Aren't they SO cute!
I actually made 7 Bunnies in total and still may make some more... we shall see!

3D Paper Easter Bunny Treat Box | SVGCuts Files

To make these cuties you will need the Bunny File from Bunny Hop SVG Kit.
The largest bunny is the unaltered SVGCuts file.
The middle bunny was reduced to 75%, and the smallest one was made at 50%.

3D Paper Easter Bunny Treat Box | SVGCuts Files

Papers I used for these 3 little critters, come from BOHO Chic stack by First Edition Papers.
All cut out on the Silhouette Cameo.

3D Paper Easter Bunny Treat Box | SVGCuts Files

As you can see no embellishments were required for these cute Easter Bunnies. Just some really cute papers, patience, and a lot of glue!

3D Paper Easter Bunny Treat Box | SVGCuts Files

These little guys make the perfect treat box for Easter gifts. Just fill them up with a small gift or some Easter chocolates. Super Easy!

Minecraft Cake | DIY Cakes

Last week my son entered his double-digit years!
The BIG 10!!! I'm still wondering how this could have happened so quickly, at this rate he will be an adult soon! It feels just like I brought him home from the hospital last week 😥

This year for his 10th Birthday he wanted a Minecraft Themed Cake. Like so many other kids, he is a huge fan of the game and loves playing it! I honestly don't know what the point of the game is but I like that it is a very creative game, and I'm all about creativity!

Here is his Creeper/Minecraft Cake!

Minecraft Cake | DIY Cakes

This cake was baked in 9" square cake pans.

Bottom 3 layers were chocolate flavored and the top 3 vanilla. The entire cake was frosted with vanilla buttercream icing, covered and decorated with fondant.

Measured 6" tall.

Here is my big Boy!
With the cutest smile on his face as he's trying to hold up this heavy cake! For those of you that follow me on Instagram, you would have seen this picture I posted last night ;)

DIY Seashell Earrings + FREE Silhouette Studio Earring Card File

Hello Everyone, I'm back! Not that you knew I was gone, lol!
We took a last-minute trip away to the Bahamas for Spring Break :) Definitely needed to see the sun, it has been a very long depressing Winter!

While on our trip we collected some seashells on the beach. My son wanted a pendant made with one of the shells and my daughter some earrings. So I thought why not make all her little friends a pair as well! A super easy and quick craft to make... a real authentic souvenir, unlike the fridge magnets I brought back that say the Bahamas but were made in China!

Aren't they SO cute! I even made a pair for myself, hehe ;)

DIY Seashell Earrings + FREE Silhouette Studio Earring Card File

To make this you will need:

Seashells (the smallest you can find)
Earring Posts and Backs
Hot Glue and Gun

Instructions:

  1. Wash and dry the seashells.
  2. Select shells similar in shape and size for each pair of earrings you create.
  3. Turn on a hot glue gun.
  4. Add a drop of glue to the back of the seashell.
  5. Attach the post to the center of the shell.
  6. Repeat for all other earings.
  7. Add them to an Earing Card.
  8. Give away your authentic super cool DIY Seashell Earrings!

Butterfly Shadow Box for Fleurette Bloom-LoveBug Creations Co-Hop!

Welcome to the Fleurette Bloom-LoveBug Creations Co-Hop!

If you've flown over from Katie's Blog, then you've joined the parade, but if you've stumbled on this hop and want to begin with the first stop, soar over to Fleurette!

The pairing of LBC's fantastic rumple ribbon and other trimmings with Fleurette Bloom's outstanding SVG's and digital delights is a great way to jazz up your projects - who wants to be ho-hum? Not us gals.........so grab your favorite beverage and settle back for some crafting inspiration for just the right touch of class!

For my project, I chose to create a Spring inspired Butterfly Shadow Box!

Isn't it pretty?!?

To create this, I altered the large nesting box SVG file from Fleurette Bloom's Nesting Gift Box SVG Collection by cutting the side panels of the box to measure 2" wide. The front of the frame, was simply created by cutting out a square from the box lid, leaving approximately a 1" border around it.

If you want to hang the frame like I did, use a hole punch to cut the holes on each side of the lid. Using a pencil, mark those spots on the bottom of the box once the lid is in place, then punch the holes out. This will align the holes properly. Feed the ribbon ends through each side and create a knot to keep the ribbon in place. This will also keep the lid from falling off as well!

To hang the butterfly through the opening of the frame, I used some hot glue and glued the back of the butterfly to a fishing line. Next, take a pin and puncture the center top and the bottom of the outside frame of the box. Feed the line through the top and the bottom holes, centering the butterfly in the middle of your opening. Secure the ends of the line onto the outside of the box with a little piece of tape. To the inside of the box, where the line runs through I added some hot glue to ensure that the line doesn't slip out. Once the glue is dry, you may remove the tape and trim the line. NOTE: You may like to do this step before putting the ribbon through the lid as I mentioned above.

To the outside of the box I embellished it with some beautiful Cherry Blossom Branches, added some gorgeous pink panther rumple ribbon, and rose bloom button!
Hope this has inspired you to create your own Spring Creations ;)

Now, how about some blog candy??
