Halloween Treat Bag Tags

Happy Halloween Everyone!!!

Today I want to share with you some Halloween treat bag tags I made for the little monsters in my life!

Here are the candy filled baggies I made for them!
Candy coma here we come ;)

For the tags I used some stamps I had that I bought a while ago at Micheal's in their dollar bin by craft smart. I thought they would be really cute to stamp and colour... I was right!

Below is an iPhone pic I took after I had stamped them and cut them out using the PixScan mat on the Silhouette Cameo. I then used my Spectrum Noir markers to colour the cuties in. I had so much fun colouring them, I now get why adult colouring is becoming so popular these days! I felt like a kid again :)

Once the cut out stamps were all coloured, I attached them to the tags using some foam tape. The background paper I used comes from My Minds Eye - Halloween Basics Paper Pad. The tags measure 3x4 inches each.

And here are the finished tags ready for my little Monsters!

Forgot to take a pic of the back of the tags with my good camera, so here is another iPhone pic!

Hope you liked my Halloween Treat Bag Tags.
Happy Haunting and stay safe!

Halloween Bewitched Cabin | 3D Halloween Treat Box Decoration | SVGCuts

Hello, my crafty Friends!
It's been a while since I had taken on a bigger project. Sometimes all I need is an excuse to craft ;) My Excuse this time was that I needed something to display on one of the hospital units I work.

So here is what I created for them!
How cool is this Bewitched Cabin?!

Not only does this make a cool decoration piece, but it can also be used as a treat or gift box!

SVGCuts files,treatbox,#SVGCuts,Silhouette Cameo,Bewitched Cabin,work,ilovedoingallthingscrafty,3D,my mind's eye,Gift Box,Halloween,decoration,

For those of you that don't know I am a Nurse and have worked in Oncology for the past 18+ years. So recently I took my House of Haunts to work. Usually, it's displayed in my craft room all year long, but this year I thought it would be cool to take it to work and share it with all the staff, patients, and visitors on one of the Units. Here's a shout-out to Station 40 at the CCI! You would not believe the comments it has received and the amazement it gets when people find out it's made of paper and that it was done by someone that works there! There is no better reward than to see someone smile because of something you made :)

The only issue was that I also work on Station 30 and they were wondering why they didn't get one? The only logical solution I saw was to get busy creating a Halloween decoration for them! See Station 30, I love you guys too!

Welcome to my Bewitched Cabin! Muhahahaha!!!

The files for this amazing creation all come from SVGCuts!

Here are the kits I used:
Bats, Ghosts & Moon - Spooky Cuties SVG Collection
Other supplies used:
Pattern Paper - My Mind's Eye
Black cardstock - Recollections
Vellum
A string of indoor orange lights
Wooden dowel
Black twine
White, black, green Ink Pads
Hot Glue
Scotch Quick dry glue
Black rhinestones & enamel dot
Cotton ball
Precision Knife
Embossing folders
Crop a Dile Big Bite Punch
Sizzix Big Shot
Silhouette Cameo

Here is a closer look at the side of the house. Love the little vellum ghosts!

Here is the other side of the house.
To add the lights I used my crop-a-dile big bite punch to create some holes along the roofline of the house, and then pushed the lights through each hole.

Kind of difficult to see here, but on the bottom left corner of the house I created a flap using a sharp precision knife. I then fed the plug end of the string of lights through the opening to allow it to get plugged in. You could also skip the string of lights and just add some electric tea lights instead.

Below are a few iPhone pics I took at work yesterday, sorry not the greatest quality :(

Here is the Bewitched Cabin as it's now displayed on  Station 30 (with one of my co-worker's hiding behind it). She did pose for another picture afterward but it was really blurry! Thanks anyway Jill!

And, here is the House of Haunts, which was my 2013 creation for the SVG Cuts Halloween Challenge now displayed on Station 40.

Oh, and see the stacked pumpkins on the top right, I made those last year as one of my SVG Cuts DT projects and gave them to Kim, our Unit Clerk. She now proudly displays them on the Unit every Fall!

I love being able to share my work and inspire others. I hope this post has inspired you to share your work and creations with others as well! Take your beautiful creations out of your craft rooms and display them for others to enjoy!

You Rock - Star Shaker Card

Hi All!

Today I want to share with you my You Rock - Star Shaker Card. I had so much fun creating this card! Despite the glittery mess I made, I  love how it turned out :)

The files to create this card come from Fleurette Bloom's  recently released Rockin' Quick Cards and are now available as a FREE gift for a limited time! Click the link for details.
The stars I used to create the shaker portion of the card come from Stars and Stripes Frame.

Here is a visual breakdown of the card...
Recently Amy from the DT did this, I thought it was GENIUS!

Soccer Ball Spinner Birthday Card | SVGCuts

Hey all!

Today I have a really cute Soccer Ball Spinner card to share with you all! Made this birthday card a couple of weeks ago for a super cool 15 year old, who loves everything soccer!

birthday,SVGCuts files,#SVGCuts,Soccer,Silhouette Cameo,Soccer Ball Spinner Card,Snarky Stamps,guy,tutorial,boy,Card,ilovedoingallthingscrafty,

The only file I used for this card was the soccer ball that comes from SVGCuts Sports Lovers SVG Collection.

This card is super simple to make, so here is how I made mine...
  1. Cut out two soccer balls and glue them back to back with a piece of embroidery string or twine running down the center in between the layers. Set this to the side.
  2. Next using circle dies, cut a large enough circle out of the front panel of the base card as well as the top layer of your card.
  3. Attach the soccer ball cut out using the stings to the top and bottom of the circle cut out, make sure to pull the strings taught. Use strong adhesive.
  4. Emboss the top layer of the card if you like, and glue that layer to the top of the card covering up the string ends and sandwiching them between the layers.
  5. I cut out a (red) circle border to finish the opening around the soccer ball using two different-sized circle dies.
  6. Embellish the rest of the card as you like!
SUPER easy!

The stamp inside is a combination of stamps I used from Snarky Stamps.

Hope you have enjoyed my Soccer Ball Spinner Card, maybe even inspired to make one of your own!

Have a great weekend!

Sea Critters Digi Die Cuts & Stamps Shaker Card

Hello my bloggy friends!

Today I have a really super cute and fairly simple card to share with you from one of Fleurette Bloom's latest Sea Critter Digi Die Cuts and Digi Stamps. I am anxiously awaiting for the arrival of her polymer stamp collection that were recently released, hopefully my happy mail will arrive soon!  In the mean time I want to show you how you can create the stamped look with out the having to do any stamping or colouring by hand.

So here is my Sea Critter Shaker Card! How cute did that turn out?! :)
Looks like they are having a fun "shell-o-bration!"

Here is how I created my card, hope this helps you if you are wanting to make something similar.
  • Using the Silhouette Studio Designer Edition software I opened the colored digi files I wanted to use.
  • Next I created a rectangle slightly smaller than the front of the basecard I wanted to use.
  • I then filled the rectangle with a gradient blue.
  • Send rectangle (background image) to the back of the layers.
  • Next you will want to resize and arrange the critters onto the background/rectangle you created.
  • Make sure that the cut setting of the images used inside the background are set to No Cut.
  • For some added fun and interest I added a few layered critters. To do that I traced the outer edge of each image. Next, highlight the image with the outer edge, select the Object function, Modify and create a crop this will create a cut line around the image now if you select Cut Edge in the Cutting options.
  • When you are happy with the layout of your card send the image to your printer, ensure your registrations marks are turned on.
  • Once your images are printed out, you are now ready to cut them out!
Here is a phone pic of what mine looked like once I did the Print and Cut.
(Didn't want to waste paper so I created two cards the same way)

  • To finish the card Glue the printed image to the front of your base card.
  • For some fun and dimension I glued some of the other cut out critters onto the printed images using pop dots.
  • The next thing I did was cut out a black border slightly larger then the the image I printed out.
  • Glue some clear acetate to the back of the border.
  • Add a border of foam tape along the edge of the black border, you may want to use two layers of tape to allow your sequins to freely move inside the card.
  • Add some sequins/beads to the middle of the card and then attach the acetate black border to the top of the card.
  • All done your shaker card! Embellish as you like ;)

Here is a closer look as these cute critters. :)

First Day of School Teacher's Gift Card/Holder | SVGCuts

Hi guys!

Just wanted to share with you all the card I will be sending along with my kids for the teachers on Tuesday. This year they have a late start, probably because they went until the very end in June! Whatever the reason I am so grateful for the last few days!

So here are the First Day of School Teacher's Gift Cards I made! What teachers wouldn't love to receive these cuties?!

first day of school,Teacher Cards,#SVGCuts,Silhouette Cameo,SVGCuts file,back to school ideas,gift card holder,teacher Gift,ilovedoingallthingscrafty,

Here is what they look like on the inside.

I created some cutout tabs on the inside offset layer (3.5 inches apart) just make sure when you glue the layer down you don't glue them down! I also created the card using the bottom (yellow) layer by welding the flipped image of it together to create the base of the card. See the image below for the pieces I used to make the cards ;)

Here is a close-up so you can see the embossing, inking, and other embellishments! Backpack blues stamp comes from Craftin' Desert Divas School Zone set. Thought it was the perfect sentiment for teachers on their first day back ;)

Files for this card are a mash-up from SVGCuts, Miss Baker's Classroom SVG Kit.

Hope my little back to school creations, have inspired you to create gift cards of your own :)

DIY Happy Birthday Cake Topper + FREE files

Hey Everyone!

Recently I have been making fancy cake toppers for family and friends. They can give a plain ol' cake the wow factor, without spending lots time or money! Believe me I know how much time it takes to make fondant cakes and this is the perfect alternative when you simply do not have the time! I have seen many expensive metal and wooden toppers out there but when you can make them out of paper for a few dollars, why spend the big bucks!

Here is what I am talking about!
So pretty right?!

So today I want to share with you how to make your very own. Here is a quick video of me making one to show you all. If you haven't yet, I would love for you to subscribe to my channel for future crafty videos :)

Here is what you need to make your own:

Heavy card stock or light weight chipboard paper.

First Day of School Signs/ Props for Back to School Pictures

Hey Everyone!

Finally getting back into some crafting! Can't believe that the summer is almost over and my kiddies are headed back to school in a few short weeks. I know many schools have already started but I'm thankful for the late start this year :)

So today I want to share with you my latest Fleurette Bloom DT project.
First day of school signs I made for my kids. I will be using them to take photos of them when they head back to school. (I'll post those pics when they happen). They are super simple to make and put together!

Here is what you will need to make your own:

Fonts:
Chalk Hand Lettering
Return to Sender
Travelling Typewriter

SVG Files:
Apple and Pencil - from School Days Kit - files were grouped together and resized.
The apple was then added to the top of the sign and grouped on to the top circle layer of the tag file. Then both the finished circle (sign) and pencil were just print and cut using the Silhouette Cameo.
Tag file (from coffee mug) - from Valentine Be Mine SVG Kit - Enlarged and cut (bottom layer only).

Paper:
Recollections card stock for the Print and Cut.
The bottom layer paper comes from the Simple Stories - Smarty Pants Paper Pack.

To Assemble:
Glue top 3 layers of the sign together, I used my ATG tape runner for that.
Attach the top of the pencil to the bottom of the sign with some glue.
To the back of the pencil, I glued a Popsicle stick. This adds strength to the paper and something for the kids to hold on to. Add a ribbon to the handle and embellish as you like ;)

For those of you that are visual people like me,
here is a video that I filmed while putting one of the signs together. Enjoy and if you haven't yet subscribe! I'm going to try an film more future projects ;)

Hope this post isn't too late for you, and it inspires you to make some of your own back to school First day signs!

For a limited time, you can get the School Days collection AND the ABC and 123 digi paper pack FREE with a purchase of $8.98 or more at Fleurette Bloom! So get them while you can :)

UPDATE... Here is super cute pic of the kids with their signs on their first day Back to School!

Thanks SO much for stopping by!

Yellowstone Vacation Pictures

 Hi Guys :)

Sorry I have been a bit MIA, haven't had too much time for crafting lately... So I guess I have to share some other fun I have been up too!

Last week we got back from a little road trip we took down to Yellowstone National Park. What a beautiful place to visit. SO much to see down there, we really had a great time :)

Here are a few of my faves... had to narrow them down from the 1000+ pictures I took ;)

Here we are, minus my daughter who is on  vacation with the Grand Parents in Portugal.

Thought these dead trees were cool looking!

These Hot Spring colours were amazing!

We were very lucky to see lots of wildlife around...  I'd show you all of my animal shots, but then National Geographic might want to hire me and I just don't have time for them right now, lol!

My son's favourite geyser of the trip... Old Faithful!

Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.

Mammoth Hot Springs.

We also drove down to see the beautiful vistas of the Grand Tetons.

One of the highlights of the road trip for me was stopping in Calgary and having dinner with this talented lady and her beautiful family... Thienly Azim from Mod Paperie an amazing crafter and for some time a fellow SVG Cuts DT member! She was one of the very first paper artist's I followed out there that inspired my own start in the paper crafting journey! What a beautiful person inside and out, can't say enough good things about her!

Hope you have enjoyed a little glimpse into my summer vacation. Hope to be back crafting pretty things with you soon!

Thanks for stopping by!
