Personalized Bookmark Shakers for the Teachers

Yiiiippppeeee!

Today is the last day of school for my kids! I'm am so excited to have them home for the summer and the best part is that I don't have to worry about packing lunches for a while! Oh, the small things that excite me ;)

So for today I want to share with you the fun Bookmarks I made for the kids teachers.

I saw this idea a while ago on You Tube and thought these would be perfect for the teachers. Here is the link to the video for those interested. I did make them a little different then the video instructed.

Here is how I made mine.
First of all I personalized the inside clear bag with each teacher's name using black vinyl. Here is a link to the font I used. The vinyl was cut using my Silhouette Cameo. Next because I do not have a laminator, I used some self laminating sheets that I found at the Dollar Store and just cut them down to size. They worked well, but because I cut close to the edge of the inside bag I wasn't sure how they would hold up. For extra reinforcement, I used my fuse tool to secure the edges. I guess if you didn't have a fuse tool you could also stitch the edges with a sewing machine. Before finishing off the tops of the bookmarks I filled them with various sequin colors, chunky glitter and microbreads. To seal the tops I used clear scotch tape, then wrapped coordination washi tape along the top edge. I finished them by adding an eyelit in the center to add some decorative ribbon, this also secures the layers together.

These bookmarks are fairly large they measure approximately 9 inches long by 2 inches wide. But you can make them to suit whatever size you like.

Hope you like my Personalized Bookmark Shakers for the Teachers. They are so much fun and interactive, all you want to do is shake them! I think these would make great gifts for any reader in your life.

Thanks for stopping by!

Back to School Project Ideas | Teacher and Student Gifts

I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend... I, unfortunately, have to work today... yup, the life of a nurse! Today, I wanted to share with you some of the back to school projects that I made for the kids and teachers over the last few years.

Are your children back to school yet? Are you all sad or are you all doing the happy dance? My kids started school last week, thankfully it went better than expected, only a few tears were shed... and hopefully no more this week!

This teacher's Apple was the very first SVG Cuts project I had ever made, way before my blog and way before I had my Silhouette! My how far I have come and learned from those days! This file is actually a pumpkin that I made to look like am an apple, before Mary had created an apple of her own! The file comes from the PICK A PUMPKIN KIT here.

Here is the second project I made from SVG Cuts... never shared before! This one comes from SVG Cuts Miss Karen's Back to School SVG Kit. The worm from the apple also comes from here!

I was so excited when SVGCuts came out with an actual Apple file! Click here for all the details from a previous post.

Here are some teacher appreciation gifts I made for the end of the school year a few years ago.

Find out how I also created these etched glasses here!

Here are some personalized water containers I made for my kids a while ago... now they take them to school each day to stay hydrated!

This has got to be one of my favorite projects! See how I made this DIY Canvas bag, so easy and useful!

Stay organized with this super quick project! DIY Desk organizer, your kids will love it... you may too!

If you've been following my blog you'll know this was a recent project I made for my son's teacher this year. 3D sneaker... so cool!

And finally here is the cute little backpack I made for my daughter's teacher this year. The perfect little bag to stuff with treats!

Well, there they are... Back to School Project Ideas, sure to put a smile on someone's face :) Hopefully, they have inspired you to share with someone headed back to school!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

3D High Top Paper Shoe | SVG Cuts

Hi Everyone!

With back to school around the corner, I've been busy creating some fun school-themed projects. Check out this cool sneaker. Don't you just love it?!

It makes the perfect little back-to-school treat. Surprise your kids with it, or fill it with some treats and give it to the Teacher. Whoever you give it to they will surely love it!

The sneaker file comes from Back to the Books SVG Kit. I definitely want to check it out, so many fun files in this kit!

The pattern paper I used comes from Fleurette Bloom's latest paper collection ABC 123 Paper Pack. Love the chalkboard scribble look. If you're looking for a school-themed paper you'll also want to check out her School Days Paper Pack.

This fun tag was created with the Print and Cut feature of the Silhouette. I have to say I'm really enjoying this function, not only do I save on paper... I also save on stamps!

Here is my blue version of the Mailbox for my son's Teacher.  Same files, the same treats, the only difference is this paper collection comes from DCWV's Gilded Orchard Stack, and I used the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool (Round 25) to create the gold button on the lid!

3D Snowmen Treat Boxes and Sleigh Ride | SVGCuts

Snow has hit us hard here in Edmonton... and as soon as it came so did my cold! Probably why I haven't blogged in a bit... been feeling a bit under the weather :(
I got this really nasty cough that's not going away, booohooo me, sniff, sniff, cough!
So while I was on some great cough medicine today... I thought I would get some crafting done, lol. Here's what I made.

3D Snowmen Treat Boxes and Sleigh Ride | SVGCuts

Aren't they the cutest snowmen ever?! I had to get the latest SVGCuts Christmas Open House kit specifically for this snowman file! So easy and quick to make! Thanks again Mary for the wonderful files you create!

Here is a closer look at my "man!" Did you notice his broom? This was another Thienly Azim inspired project. She had made a broom in a recent post... I thought it would work great with my snowman. Check out her broom here. For the broom, I used a wooden dowel wrapped with black washi tape and used the branches from here to create the broom bristles. The holly on the hat also comes from the same kit.

This 3D sled was also inspired by Theinly. As soon as I saw her latest SVG Cuts Design Team project, I knew I had to make one! Check out her sled here... it's amazing! Thanks, Thienly for all your help and inspiration!

I think these snowmen will make the perfect Christmas treat boxes for the kid's teachers this year... Who wouldn't love them, especially when they are filled with irresistible goodies!

3D Apple Treat Box | Back to School Gift For Teacher | SVGCuts

HELLO! I'm finally back from our European travels! Yay! The trip was amazing, but I am glad to be home :) I know you all must have been going through a bit of withdrawal from my blog, lol! No worries I already have the crafting itch... so I've already started crafting away! Yes, it's back to REALITY... and as you might have already noticed I have made some changes to the appearance of the blog... I guess that will always be changing and under construction! But what do you think so far...better right?

So yesterday was the first day of school for the kids... Their school actually started last week, but we were still away. I don't think they minded at all missing a few days! So here they are just before leaving for school. Maia is in grade 1 and Tomas is in grade 3. I can't believe that they are this big already! Time just keeps flying!

So here are the treats I made for the teachers this year. What teacher doesn't like apples? Especially when they're filled with chocolates?! I hope they like them... I love how they turned out!

Here is a closer look, aren't they adorable?!

The files for the 3D Apple come from SVG Cuts MISS BAKER'S CLASSROOM SVG KIT. I can't say enough good things about their files. Mary is amazing at what she does! The paper I used is from Fancy Pants Designs, their Off to School collection.

I hope you liked them too!

DIY Personalized Glass Etched Mugs

DIY Personalized Glass Etched Mugs by ilovedoingallthingscrafty.com

In my previous post, I had shown you the gifts I made for the teachers. So I thought I would share with you some pictures of how that was done. Also please refer to my posts on other etched glass projects I have done, here and here.

DIY Personalized Glass Etched Mugs by ilovedoingallthingscrafty.com

First I cut out the image I wanted from contact paper, with the Silhouette Cameo. No need to use up expensive vinyl especially if it's going to get thrown out!

Then I applied etching cream very liberally to the exposed areas with a paintbrush. Then just followed the directions on the Armour Etch bottle. Removed the contact paper and rinsed off the cream.

There you have it sooooo simple and pretty quick to make! The perfect gift for a teacher or for yourself, just add your name or whatever else you like!

Happy crafting, have a great weekend!

3D Paper School House Treat Boxes for Teachers | SVGCuts

Yeaaaaah! School is almost done!!! My kids are so excited for the summer holidays to begin... they have started the countdown a while ago, LOL!

My son is even more excited he gets to miss the last week of school... even though they are the fun school days, he really doesn't care! He leaves tonight with my In-laws for Portugal! He is so excited, I'm sure going to miss my little man :'( Well join them there in August!

So because today was his last day of school I wanted him to give his teacher a little gift to thank her for all her help this year... (I think teachers have the hardest job! They deserve so much more!!!) Of course I made the same gift for my daughter's teacher, but she won't receive it until next week! Hopefully, Mrs. Stiksma doesn't show Mrs. Esser, LOL!

Aren't the School Houses adorable!!! The cutest part is that they are totally functional, flip open the roof and they are gift boxes! Fill them up with goodies and they could also be used as bookends :)  What teacher would love them?

3D Paper School House Treat Boxes for Teachers | SVGCuts by ilovedoingallthingscrafty.com

The files I used come from SVG Cuts SCHOOL DAYS SVG KITLOVE their files!!! (I did have to enlarge the files to accommodate the size of my gifts) The cardstock comes from DCWV, the Grade School Stack, all cut with the Cameo.
