First Holy Communion Cake Topper + FREE Files

One of my most popular posts was how I made my Cake Toppers inexpensively out of paper (Click HERE for that post).

Today I have another Cake Topper to show you. This one is perfect for any of you looking for a First Communion Topper. I made this one for My God Daughter's cake and want to share the files I made with all of you. The nice thing about these toppers is that they can make a simple plain cake look fabulous with very little effort.

Isn't it so pretty and elegant?!
And, if you're looking for ideas for a boy, simply leave off the pink Cross or cut it out of blue paper.

Click on the links below the post to see what supplies I used. I used glitter foil paper from Recollections and avoided a glittery mess (this one does not flake), sorry could't find a link for it.
For those of you that want to watch it all come together and the how to's, here is the process video.

DIY Happy Birthday Cake Topper + FREE files

Hey Everyone!

Recently I have been making fancy cake toppers for family and friends. They can give a plain ol' cake the wow factor, without spending lots time or money! Believe me I know how much time it takes to make fondant cakes and this is the perfect alternative when you simply do not have the time! I have seen many expensive metal and wooden toppers out there but when you can make them out of paper for a few dollars, why spend the big bucks!

Here is what I am talking about!
So pretty right?!

So today I want to share with you how to make your very own. Here is a quick video of me making one to show you all. If you haven't yet, I would love for you to subscribe to my channel for future crafty videos :)

Here is what you need to make your own:

Electronic Cutter - I used the Silhouette Cameo
Glitter or foil paper (I used foil paper from Recollections) avoided a glittery mess.
Heavy card stock or light weight chipboard paper.
Glue, hot glue and gun.
Toothpicks or skewers.
Cake of course!  (homemade or store bought... shhh, no one will know!)

For those wanting to make your own using this file, click on the links below the picture!

Spring Garden Bird Cage Canvas | Mixed Media Project for SVGCuts Challenge

Yeah!!! I see I have a few more followers today... how exciting! Welcome to my little blog of happiness!

Today I'm going to share with you a project I've been thinking about and working on for a while. SVG Cuts has its Facebook Spring Challenge going on right now, so I thought I would enter. Wish me luck, it's going to be tough there are some really great entries... go check them out!

So here is my "Spring Garden Bird Cage" hope you like it :)

Spring Garden Bird Cage Canvas | Mixed Media Project for SVGCuts Challenge

I used files from SVG Cuts Playful Parlour, 3D Flowers Part 1, 3D Mums and Fall Flowers, Happy Bday You, and Amilie's Accessories Kits! Cut them all out with my Cameo using Recollections card stock.

I then glued all of the beautiful paperwork onto a 16X20 canvas that I had painted with sky blue acrylic paint. I used some twigs that I cut from my yard around the frame... and voila, my spring masterpiece! I think it will look great in our Solarium :)

and here close-ups...
