I used vellum behind the house layer. To the windows, I used a yellow marker to color in the area. This will add a yellow tint making the card spookier, just in case the recipient wants to add a tea light behind the card to display it. For fun, I stamped spider webs in each window and glued a jack-o-lantern to the bottom right window.

Trick Or Treek | Honey Bee Stamps

Happy Monday Friends!

Today I have a super cute Halloween card to share with you all that was inspired by my childhood. As the daughter of immigrant parents, I didn't really speak much English until I was 6 years old even though we had moved to Canada when I was 2. So for the longest time when I would go trick or treating on Halloween, I would scream "Trick or Tree" when I would ask for candy at the doorsteps around the neighborhood. It wasn't until much later (probably in my teens) that I realized that I and every other Portuguese person I trick or treated with had been saying it wrong all along. So even though my card today spells Treek, just know in my mind it will always be Tree!

CARD DETAILS

To begin I die cut 6 of each ghost figure from THE NAME'S JACK | HONEY CUTS and then stacked and glued them together. Behind the eye openings, I glued a piece of black cardstock to give the ghosts black eyes and to one of the ghosts I added a mouth. To each ghost I then blended out cheeks by using Tattered Rose Oxide Ink and the DETAIL BLENDER BRUSHES. I also added some shadows to the bodies using Hickory Smoke Oxide Ink. 

For the sentiment, I stamped out the words Trick or Treek from the FABOOLOUS SENTIMENTS on the angular pieces of the banner. To stamp out the TREEK I used the TR from the TREAT stamp and the EEK stamp by masking the letters I didn't need. To extend the banner I glued both angular banners together from the ANGULAR BANNER DIES.

I then arranged and glued the ghosts onto a galaxy panel that I had trimmed from the HARVEST FESTIVAL PAPER PAD and then glued it to a black card base. To finish off the front of the card I added some white enamel dots from the BACK TO BASICS sticker set.

For the inside, I stamped out the Happy Halloween from the FABOOLOUS SENTIMENTS.

I think this card is pretty adorable even though it is a Halloween card.

Trick or Treat Trimmings Card | Studio Katia

Hello, my friends and Happy Monday!

Have you seen all the inspiration from the Studio Katia Fall Release? If you haven't click HERE and join the Hop! Make sure you also comment by the 20th to qualify for the Giveaways! Alright, let's get on with this fa-BOO-lous card today!

CARD DETAILS

So the first thing I did was stamp out the image from the SPOOKY PUMPKINS TRIMMINGS set using Versafine Black Onyx ink and then heat set it with Crystal Clear Ultra  Powder. I then colored the pumpkin scene in with Zig Clean Color Brushes. Once the coloring was dry, I used the Trick or Treat die from the HALLOWEEN TRIMMINGS DIE set to cut out the letters. I then snipped off the connected top piece of paper with precision scissors.

To create the background I began by blending out the Mustard Seed Oxide ink in the center, then the Wilted Violet and finished the edges with Black Soot Oxide inks. To give it the stary sky look I splattered white pigment ink all over it.

To the background panel, I also glued a couple of webs that I die cut using the SPIDER WEB SHAKER dies and then used some Liquid Pixie Dust to add some sparkle to the black webs.

To finish off this card I foam mounted the Halloween Pumpkins along the bottom edge of the card and then added some glossy accents for some shiny details. For more bling, I also added some EXOTIC ONYX PEARLS from the new release.
