For my card today, I wanted to create an inviting table scene for someone to enjoy a cup of tea. 

I began this card by stamping out a few of the images from the Sweet Latte set onto Bristol paper and then colored them in using Zig markers. I did a little bit of masking to add the teaspoon to the side of the teacup and fussy cut that out, and then used the coordinating dies to cut out the rest of the images.

Next, I did some dry embossing to add texture to my cardstock using the Mandala Stencil and running it through the Sizzix die cutting machine with an embossing mat. I then took the embossed piece and die cut the piece using the Dotted Pattern Set 3 dies to create a window for my scene.

To the background of what is the card base, I blended out a very subtle glow using Squeezed Lemon Distress Oxide ink and then began building the scene. The first piece I glued down was the patterned paper for a tablecloth and then added all the pieces to the table using foam tape to pop them up. I also stamped the hearts and steam to the background, colored those in and added some glossy accents. Lastly, I added the embossed frame using foam tape to create a window.

For the sentiment, I stamped out the many sweet thanks onto the dotted rectangle from the Dotted Patterns Set 2 and trimmed the edges to slide behind the tea kettle.

Getting Inky with Wendy Vecchi's Make Art Blendable Dye Inks

Hey Everyone 😊

Today I have a variety of cards to share with you that I am going to need for some upcoming occasions. Of course with Mother's Day is just around the corner, I thought it would be a good idea to make a few more Mother's Day cards ready to go, plus it's my FIL's birthday today so I've got lots to share. 

Recently I received some amazing products from Ranger to experiment and create with. These inks are the new Wendy Vecchi Make Art Blendable Dye inks. They are ideal for creating backgrounds, stamping, and stenciling. They also sent me the detail blending tools and Wendy Vecchi's perfect Cardstock Cards and Panels already cut and ready to go.  I couldn't wait to try all these goodies out, and I must say I had lots of fun experimenting and getting all inky-fingered!  Most of the supplies, other than the Ranger product I used today come from Studio Katia. I will have supply links listed at the end of the post.

For my first card, I used this very intricate Mandala Stencil and used the detail blending tool to blend out the inks from the center of the stencil outward. By using the little detail tool I was able to separate intricate design by using different colors along the stencil, I did blend a few colors together but I like the option and control that these tools gave me. Once the background was finished, I stamped out and die cut the Best mom Ever sentiment from the Best Ever set. Finished the card by adding some Clear Sparkling Crystals for some shine, and since they are clear these crystals take on the color of the background... love that!

For this next card, I wanted to see how well these inks blended onto this perfect cardstock panel. Honestly, I think they blended very similarly to a distress ink on Neenah Solar White smooth cardstock. I haven't tried it out yet but feel that they may blend out even better onto some bristol smooth paper (which is my preferred paper for blending). So for this card, I used the Bluebird and the Fern inks and blended those out onto the card panel first. I then used a leafy stencil and blended the opposite color on top of the background color and I loved the mixed blend of colors I got.  Cut out the panel with the rectangle die and added it to the card base. This ink also stamps really crisp as you can see in the sentiment below. Keep in mind that this ink takes a little longer to dry, so you either need to heat set it or just set it aside to dry or it may smear. To finish this card I added some green and blue confetti from the Crytal Rainbow Confetti mix.

This next card and final card for today was really fun to make. I mounted this fairly large Spring Bouquet stamp on my stamping platform and then added 3 of the inks to the stamp (Red Geranium, Orange Blossom, and Sunflower). I then stamped the images a few times onto the panel and spritzed it with some water to give the lines a little bit of a watercolor-like blurred effect. Next, I added some messy water coloring to the images by diluting the ink and giving the image's color.  Once the flower panel was dry I fussy cut along the flower's edge. I then added the flowers to another panel that I had dripped some very diluted watercolor to using the same inks. Ran both the panels through the Sizzix using the large rectangle die, added them to the card base. I finished this card off with some sequins and a Mothers Day stamp from Spring Blossom.

If you are looking for blendable inks that you can stamp and blend well with these new Wendy Vecchi Blendable Inks may be a great option for you. They are a great price point and I really like their size. They aren't as large as regular stamp pads but are way larger than the mini cubes and feel very comfortable in your hand. Plus if you are already a Wendy Vecchi fan and have her Archival inks these colors match up perfectly with those inks too.
