Minecraft Cake | DIY Cakes

Last week my son entered his double-digit years!
The BIG 10!!! I'm still wondering how this could have happened so quickly, at this rate he will be an adult soon! It feels just like I brought him home from the hospital last week 😥

This year for his 10th Birthday he wanted a Minecraft Themed Cake. Like so many other kids, he is a huge fan of the game and loves playing it! I honestly don't know what the point of the game is but I like that it is a very creative game, and I'm all about creativity!

Here is his Creeper/Minecraft Cake!

This cake was baked in 9" square cake pans.

Bottom 3 layers were chocolate flavored and the top 3 vanilla. The entire cake was frosted with vanilla buttercream icing, covered and decorated with fondant.

Measured 6" tall.

Here is my big Boy!
With the cutest smile on his face as he's trying to hold up this heavy cake! For those of you that follow me on Instagram, you would have seen this picture I posted last night ;)

  2. You did an amazing job on the cake! I am choosing NOT to show my oldest son this cake because I know if I did, that is all he would think about for the next 8 months until his birthday! :)

    1. Thanks so much Beth! Kids are so funny! I knew it had this had to be a Minecraft cake for about a year, actually since his last party! He had just celebrated his 9th Bday and was already thinking about his 10th. They are SO cute sometimes ;)
